Bunless burger

Low-carb bunless burgers guarantee a richly seasoned and juicy burger for an amazing keto-friendly experience. Bunless burgers are convenient to cook and taste heavenly ensuring no dirtying to the strict keto diet.

Ingredients –

1 pound ground beef

2 tbsp ghee (or) olive oil (or) bacon drippings

Salt to taste

Pepper for seasoning

1 onion, sliced into rings

1 tomato, sliced

1 head iceberg lettuce

2 tbsp tomato paste

1 tbsp white vinegar

1 tsp mustard

¼ tsp garlic powder

¼ tsp onion powder

¼ cup mayo

(or)

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

 

Directions-

  1. Combine all the tomato paste, vinegar, mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, and mayo in a bowl to make the sauce and whisk well. Proceed to refrigerating.
  2. If you choose to use Worcestershire sauce, you don’t have to follow step 1.
  3. Use the ground beef to form beef patties, thin enough to make 4 patties.
  4. Season the patties with salt and pepper on both sides.
  5. Heat 1 tbsp oil or ghee on a pan over medium heat.
  6. Toss in the onions and cook for 12-15 minutes until browned and caramelised.
  7. Prepare the burger buns by cutting the iceberg lettuce heads. Cut off the bottom stem and remove the thick inner pieces of the lettuce to form the top and bottom of your “bun”.
  8. Cook the beef patties on medium-high hear on a grill or over a pan with the remaining 1 tbsp oil or ghee. Cook for 4 minutes on each side.
  9. Put together your burger by putting half of the lettuce wedge at the bottom. Add a slice of tomato and top it with the burger patty.
  10. Spread some sauce over the top and add in some onions. Feel free to add more sauce on-top of the onions if desired.
  11. Finally, top the burger with the remaining ½ lettuce wedge and complete your burger assembly.
  12. Serve and enjoy!
