Cauliflower hash browns

Cauliflower hash browns are a wonderful substitute to the traditional potato hash browns that are known to be rich in carbs. These hash browns are a lighter keto-friendly version of the snacks and taste equally delicious.

Ingredients –

3 cups cauliflower, grated

1 egg

1 cup cheese, shredded

¼ cup crispy bacon bits

½ tsp salt

¼ tsp black pepper

1 tbsp spring onions, chopped

½ tsp garlic powder

One pinch cayenne pepper (optional, for spice)

Directions –

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees C (400 degrees F)
  2. Place the cauliflower in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave for 2 minutes.
  3. Spread the cauliflower onto a clean towel and let it cool.
  4. Tie the mixture in the towel and squeeze out as much moisture as possible.
  5. Transfer this mush into a bowl and add in the cheese, egg, bacon bits, green onions, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and cayenne and mix well.
  6. Form 6 flat patties with your hand using this mixture.
  7. On a greased baking sheet, place the patties. You can also fry the cauliflower hash browns on a pan over medium flame instead of baking them.
  8. Bake for about 15-20 minutes until the patties are browned.
  9. Broil the hash browns until they turn crispy.
  10. Cool for sometime. Serve and enjoy!
