Keto butter chicken

Butter chicken is considered one of the most loved chicken dishes that traces its path back to the northern regions of India. A low-carb butter chicken is as creamy and buttery as the original butter chicken and is bound to make you crave for more with its silky smooth texture and rich flavour.

Ingredients –

1 pound chicken breast (or) boneless chicken thigh

1 cup heavy whipping cream

2 tbsp butter

1.5 tbsp tomato paste

¼ onion, diced

3 garlic cloves, diced

1 tbsp fresh coriander leaves, chopped

1 tsp ground ginger

1 tsp turmeric powder

1 tsp red chilli powder

½ tsp garam masala powder

½ tsp ground cinnamon

½ tsp cumin powder

Salt to taste

 

Directions –

  1. Cut the chicken into chunks as per your desire.
  2. Coat the chicken with ground ginger, turmeric, red chilli powder, garam masala powder, cinnamon, salt, and cumin powder. Set aside.
  3. Heat a pan on medium flame and melt butter in it.
  4. Add in the onions and garlics and cook until they’re fragrant.
  5. Add in the chicken and cook for about 5 minutes until the chicken is almost fully cooked.
  6. Add in the whipping cream and tomato paste. Gently mix using a spatula.
  7. Having noticed a bright orange colour, turn down the heat a little and cover with a lid for 6 minutes.
  8. Remove the lid and mix. For a thicker sauce consistency, cook uncovered for sometime.
  9. Garnish the delicious chicken dish with fresh coriander leaves and a drizzle of butter.
  10. Serve and enjoy!
