Low-carb cheese and bacon frittata

The keto version of a frittata is made with eggs that are known to be very low in carbs and hence, make up an excellent keto-friendly dish. The frittata can be made with bacon or with vegetables (for vegetarians) and are bake to form a delicious meal at any time of the day.


4 slices bacon, diced

6 eggs

½ cup cheese, grated or shredded

1 cup mushrooms, sliced

4 ounces baby spinach

1/3 cup heavy cream

2 tbsp butter

¼ medium onion, chopped

½ tsp salt

½ tsp pepper

1/8 tsp nutmeg ground (optional)


Directions –

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C (355 degrees F)
  2. Add bacon to a pan over high heat and sauté for 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add in the butter and mushrooms. Sauté for 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add in the spinach and cook until it wilts.
  5. Add eggs, cream, salt, and pepper in a bowl and whisk well.
  6. Transfer the sautéed ingredients to a baking pan or a baking dish.
  7. Sprinkle cheese over the ingredients.
  8. Pour in the egg mixture over the sautéed ingredients.
  9. Bake for about 20 minutes.
  10. Serve and enjoy!
