Tips for our beginners with poop issues

It's okay, we are here for you.

First of all, it's perfectly normal to be a bit constipated or more when fasting because nothing is being consumed or helping to move the previous meal through your digestive system during your fasting window, Dr. Sonpal says.

1. You may not be putting enough fiber in your diet. A lack of fiber may be the main reason for your constipation. To ensure you're getting all the nutrients your body needs, Dr. Sonpal says. Pile your plate with fruits, veggies, and whole grains, which are stellar sources of fiber.

2.  "Because diarrhea significantly decreases hydration levels, studies have shown that drinking water throughout the day relieves diarrhea symptoms and prevents dehydration," Dr. Sonpal says.

3. If you eat almost all the veggies in the world you might notice larger poops. You don't have to forgo the fiber. For one, most people don't get enough daily. In fact, 95 percent of Americans don't consume the recommended daily amount of fiber, according to a July 2016 article in the American Journal of Lifestyle Medicine. ICYDK, the 2015-2020 Dietary Guidelines for Americans suggest getting between 25 and 34 grams a day if you're under 50, or 22 to 28 grams if you're over.
